Moon Palace Resort - Arriving at the Resort

Upon your arrival at the Moon Palace Resort, you will see many of the Moon Palace Resort staff waiting on the steps leading up to the main lobby of the resort. Once you are dropped off, the staff will take over by assisting you with loading your luggage onto a cart or helping you to carry it to the lobby. A general rule of thumb to follow is to leave a $1 tip per bag (although if you are on an all inclusive trip this is certainly not mandatory, but a nice gesture).

You will walk into one of the most impressive lobbies in all of Cancun. The Moon Palace Resort lobby boasts of marble columns and amazing stained glass ceilings surrounded by lots of hustle and bustle as many vacationers check in and check out at the same times. You will be escorted to a seat to wait for a reservationist or if they are not very busy, you will be escorted to the reservation desk where you will check in. You will receive more information about the Moon Palace Resort, your keys, and receive answers to any other questions you may have. If you wish to exchange your currency, there is a currency exchange desk on site. If you need money from an ATM, there is an ATM in the lobby as well.

You will see many shops and lots of restaurants. There is so much to do at the Moon Palace Resort so you will want to get right to your room, get settled and get ready to explore your amazing surroundings. The attendant will then show you to your room.

Moon Palace Resort - The Ride to The Resort

Once you have left the Cancun airport and have chosen your means of transportation whether it be by the van provided by [Moon Palace Resort], a taxi or a bus, you will have a fairly short ride to the resort.

Most of the time you will get a driver who will be cordial although not real talkative. Sometimes this is because the driver might not speak a lot of English. Other times it's because he is waiting for you to ask him questions. If his English is good enough he will usually open up and relax and you can have a great ride to the Moon Palace Resort.

The other interesting thing about the ride to Moon Palace is if you are in a van, you may meet people from other countries. This makes the ride a lot of fun. You can get to know each other and a little bit about each other's cultures. Even though you will only be in the van for about 15-20 minutes, it's still great to have a conversation with someone you don't know.

The scenery will be fairly boring on the way. There isn't much to see. The area doesn't look very nice and you will see some minor poverty, but mostly you will see gray streets and nothing really worth noticing. You may see lots of Mexican workers building roads and resorts. They will be working in the hot sun in long pants and shirts for the most part. It's hard to believe they can even work in the hot conditions.

As you approach the Moon Palace Resort you will enter a gate where a security guard will check in the vehicle. You will continue down a long road for what seems like forever, but then you will see the amazing Moon Palace right in front of you.

For more information on the Moon Palace Resort visit: http://www.dreamcancunresorts.com/

When you arrive, the driver will help you with your luggage and so will the attendents waiting for you on the steps. They are typically very gracious and helpful and even though you may be on an all inclusive trip, don't forget to tip. They really don't make very much money.

Moon Palace Resort Cancun - Arrival at the Airport

Getting to the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun is fairly easy. The trip from the airport is only about a 15 minute ride. If you are traveling as a guest of a VIP member, your ground transporation to and from the airport is included in the cost of your all inclusive week. If not, a taxi or van will cost about $40 for a van load, sometimes more and sometimes less.

For the Moon Palace Resort transportation, you will get off your plane, go through customs, and walk toward the glass doors straight ahead. You will pass through many sales people who want to talk to you about their tours and about timeshare properties in Cancun. Your destination is the Moon Palace Resort. You can always talk to the timeshare people at the resort. Your transportation, if prearranged, will already be waiting for you so you should go outside the glass doors and look for signs for Moon Palace Resort or a sign that says "Elite Tours" which is the tour group for Moon Palace.

The vans are usually white, marked Moon Palace or Palace Resorts on the sides, are air conditioned and are driven by locals, some who speak English very well and other languages, and others who speak very little of anything but Spanish. They are almost all pleasant, after all, they are hoping for a tip. They will load your baggage for you and unload it at the resort.

Feel free to ask questions if they speak your native language. They can be very helpful. The trip along the way is not very pretty. The land is flat and the road is a boring highway. You will oftentimes see hard working Mexicans in the very hot sun working hard on some type of project. I personally don't know how they do it, so I asked one of course. He told me that the might look like it doesn't bother them but they do get very hot. Most work in long pants too.

When you arrive near the resort you will pass through a security gate that allows you to enter the resort. We will cover what's next in another blog. Enjoy the slideshow.

Why is the Moon Palace Resort So Popular in Cancun?

The Moon Palace Resort is very popular in Cancun for several reasons.

1. It is a five star resort that is part of the Palace Resorts which own 11 other properties throughout Mexico.

2. It is a very large resort with over 2,000 rooms, 12 restaurants, a disco that is open until 3 AM, shopping on site and a magnificent spa facility a golf cart ride away.

3. The service at the Moon Palace Resort is excellent, even for as large a complex as it is.

4. It is family oriented. There is plenty to do for all ages, including for children under 12. There is a wonderful "kids club" which offers arts and crafts, games, and a fun time with other children in a safe, supervised environment.

5. The Moon Palace Resort is expensive, but you get your money's worth. You can travel in the off season and save quite a bit of money.

6. It is a beautiful resort and has the largest series of swimming pools in Cancun.

7. The rooms are well appointed and each one has a private double jacuzzi for your enjoyment. (see the picture above for what one of the bedrooms in the Presidential suite looks like.

These are only a few reasons to visit the Moon Palace Resort. You can see more on the Palace Resort website at http://www.palaceresorts.com/

Moon Palace Resort - How to Get a Great Discount

One of the ways to get a great discount on your stay at Moon Palace Resort is by booking your week through a Palace Resorts VIP member. The VIP members have purchased any number of weeks at a discount and for a small fee, they are willing to pass their discounts along to you.

Think of it as having a 75% - 90% off coupon. Each VIP member can ask whatever they want to allow you to use their week, but most charge between $120 and $200 for you to travel as their guest to the Moon Palace Resort.

Keep in mind that the VIP member gets a minimum of $700 off for each week that they travel so that would mean that you would be paying $700 more to book through Palace Resorts, unless they are running some type of promotion. Then you may get the same amount of money off your rooms, but you will not get all of the VIP benefits. Keep in mind that the price is just for the room, not for the all inclusive portion of your stay.

If you want to know more about what the VIP benefits are, you can visit http://www.dreamcancunresorts.com/ and go to the page that says Aventura Spa Palace Resort. On that page you will see a list of what is included with the VIP benefits.

If you want to find a VIP member, you can find them on Ebay (just type in Cancun or Moon Palace Resorts and on VRBO.com You will see quite a few members who are willing to give you one of their weeks for a huge discount price.

Moon Palace Resort - Free Wedding Planning

One of the most notable things about Moon Palace Resort is their generosity when it comes to offering free wedding planning. Can you think of a more fabulous place to get married then on the white, powdery sand beaches of Cancun, Mexico?

Moon Palace Resort is ready for the bride and groom to be. They have a fabulous gazebo that is set right along the ocean. The view is spectacular. They will help the new bride plan everything from the ceremony to the private dinner for two in the honeymoon suite. The key to success at the resort is making reservations well in advance and making sure that you meet all of the requirements they have listed to be legally married. These requirements are not their requirements but what is required by Mexican law so it is important to pay close attention to what you will need BEFORE you get to Mexico and find out that you won't be able to get legally married. Palace Resorts provides all of the information that you need on their website.
In the meantime, if you would like to find out more about what the Palace Resorts offer or about purchasing a Palace Resorts timeshare, you can visit http://www.dreamcancunresorts.com/ and click on the timeshare for sale tab (if it is still available) or http://dreamcancunresorts.com/moon_palace_resort.html to find out more about Moon Palace Resort.

Moon Palace Resort - Cancun Mexico Bargain Hunters

Moon Palace Resort in Cancun Mexico is a vacationers dream. My family and I have traveled to Cancun many times, and having owned a Palace Resort timeshare, we are priviledged to travel to any one of the 11 Palace Resorts offered.

Moon Palace is also highly rated at #21 out of 162 resorts in Cancun. If you go to trip advisor where returning travelers leave their comments, you will find mostly positive comments. Moon Palace consistently has a 4/5 star positive rating. Keep in mind when reading the reviews though that everyone views their experience in a personal way. Also keep in mind that there may be four five star ratings on March 27th where people rave about their vacation and about Moon Palace Resort, but there may be one review from someone who was there at the exact same time who thought it was the worst resort they had ever been to. I can't quite understand that, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I will caution the would be vacationer that for the average, middle class traveler, Moon Palace Resort (or any of the Palace Resorts) is expensive. It's not too much more expensive then average, nor is the price outrageous, but don't expect to stay at one of the Palace Resorts for much less than $325 per night.

You must keep in mind also that the Palace Resorts offers all inclusive packages. This means what it says. Everything is included. You could conceivably leave your wallet in the safe in your room the entire week and never have to take it out until it's time to return home.

With that being said, are there ways to find bargains for Moon Palace Resort? Yes. There are actually three ways you can save on your next trip to Moon Palace.

1. You can join a vacation club membership (one of the top rated ones on the internet today) by visiting http://www.grntimesharediscounts.com/ and it's sister site, http://www.amazingvacationsite.com/

2. Going to ebay and typing in Moon Palace Resort in the search bar. You will find VIP members like myself who may be renting one of their weeks. When Palace Resorts isn't running a promotion you will save about $600 off your week which is a pretty significant savings.

3. Visit a site like vrbo.com , called vacation rentals by owner. You will find Palace Resorts owners [Moon Palace Resort] owners who may be offering a great deal.

You will not regret taking a vacation at Moon Palace Resort.
