Moon Palace Resort Cancun - Arrival at the Airport

Getting to the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun is fairly easy. The trip from the airport is only about a 15 minute ride. If you are traveling as a guest of a VIP member, your ground transporation to and from the airport is included in the cost of your all inclusive week. If not, a taxi or van will cost about $40 for a van load, sometimes more and sometimes less.

For the Moon Palace Resort transportation, you will get off your plane, go through customs, and walk toward the glass doors straight ahead. You will pass through many sales people who want to talk to you about their tours and about timeshare properties in Cancun. Your destination is the Moon Palace Resort. You can always talk to the timeshare people at the resort. Your transportation, if prearranged, will already be waiting for you so you should go outside the glass doors and look for signs for Moon Palace Resort or a sign that says "Elite Tours" which is the tour group for Moon Palace.

The vans are usually white, marked Moon Palace or Palace Resorts on the sides, are air conditioned and are driven by locals, some who speak English very well and other languages, and others who speak very little of anything but Spanish. They are almost all pleasant, after all, they are hoping for a tip. They will load your baggage for you and unload it at the resort.

Feel free to ask questions if they speak your native language. They can be very helpful. The trip along the way is not very pretty. The land is flat and the road is a boring highway. You will oftentimes see hard working Mexicans in the very hot sun working hard on some type of project. I personally don't know how they do it, so I asked one of course. He told me that the might look like it doesn't bother them but they do get very hot. Most work in long pants too.

When you arrive near the resort you will pass through a security gate that allows you to enter the resort. We will cover what's next in another blog. Enjoy the slideshow.
